Martha Kearns completes ACORNS Plus programme
StoryLab was extremely proud when one of its founders, Martha Kearns, was accepted onto the pilot of the highly-competitive ACORNS programme, a government-run initiative that supports female entrepreneurs based in rural locations.
And we were even more delighted that she was one of only seven business women across the country to be selected to progress onto the ACORNS Plus programme, which is for companies with the potential for further growth.
During the programme she met many other inspiring entrepreneurs – both start-ups and established business leaders – and even helped them share their own stories as part of the ACORNS programme.
On finishing the programme, which is funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine’s Rural Innovation and Development Fund, the seven businesswomen were presented with their certificates at the ACORNS national forum in Mullingar last month.
“It was a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the ACORNS Plus programme with some truly inspirational business leaders. A massive thank you to ACORNS and to the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine, and a special thanks to my two encouraging – yet realistic – mentors during the ACORNS process – Heather Reynolds of Eishtec in Waterford and Deirdre McGlone of Harvey’s Point in Donegal,” says Martha.
We would highly recommend ACORNS to any female business entrepreneurs who are in the process of setting up or have less than two years sales. You can register your interest for ACORNS 4 at acorns.ie.
