Top marks for Studyclix survey media coverage
It was an A+ for Studyclix media coverage recently after the findings of two national student surveys made news headlines across the country.
Ireland’s most popular study tool Studyclix surveyed 1,300 sixth-year students about subjects including their CAO choices, the career guidance they receive, how the housing crisis will impact on them, their usage of AI and Irish language teaching methods.
The survey revealed that 40% of students are unsure whether their CAO choice is correct; 15% have sought private career guidance due to lack of support from guidance counsellors and that use of AI is now rampant in school work.
A second survey probed whether recent cultural spotlights on the Irish langauge have boosted the native tongue, including the global success of Belfast Irish language rappers Kneecap.
It found that almost seven in ten students have a love and appreciation for the Irish language, but more than eight in ten (81%) believe the way in which it is taught is outdated.
We worked closely with Studyclix to crystalise the messages emanating from the results of the surveys to generate extensive national and regional media coverage for the brand.
In total, there were 49 stories and mentions across all platforms – print, broadcast and online, reaching a total potential audience of six million people.
Discussion about the ‘Kneecap effect’ on the Irish language – or lack of it – was carried by Newstalk, RTE, Today FM as well as in print in the Irish Examiner and across regional media.
Studyclix representatives also took part in numerous media interviews, cementing the study tool’s authority on the various issues raised by the student surveys,
